The Gaston Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) / City of Gastonia has initiated public transit expansion study.   The study should yield various alternatives and cost estimates and projections for possible public transit expansion options, including the expansion of “Gastonia Transit” to other municipalities within the county, and outside into neighboring counties as express routes as well.  It is important to note that all proposals for expansion be ADA compliant.

At present, all routes for the Gastonia Transit system operate within the corporate limits of the City of Gastonia.  Recent interest from other Gaston County municipalities has generated the need for this study.  In addition to cost estimates/projections, cost-sharing options should also be provided.
